Quarantine Home Gym Essentials
Being in quarantine has forced us to dust off those 5 lbs dumbbells in the back of our closet and get creative when it comes to getting in workouts.
It’s hard to find motivation in the midst of what feels like a never ending isolation. For me so far, it has been important to follow on social media content creators who inspire me to put my best foot forward each day, and also having equipment that has inspired me to try new workouts and techniques to challenge myself daily!
Listed below are are a few of my favorites:
I have used resistance bands in the past, but these that I ordered at the start of quarantine are by far the best I’ve used. They have held up well and so far have not stretched out. There are so many different workouts that you are able to do with them, be creative! They are also a piece of equipment that you can use in your routine when you return to the gym.
2) Jump rope
You can use any type of jump rope, but this is the most similar to the kind I have. Whether you want to do a full jump rope workout or implement it into a workout, it works your full body and is a perfect way to challenge yourself.
3) Peloton App
The Peloton app has been my lifesaver for the past couple weeks. When I don’t feel like putting thought into my workouts, I throw one of their classes on and can trust I will get a good workout. (My favorite instructor is Chase, BTW)
I have found having light dumbbells has been my saving grace. While I am not using heavy weights, I up my repetitions, and still feel like I get a great workout in every time. I have attached a set of 3 different sizes of dumbbells that are currently in stock.
